- Supply a print-ready PDF in CMYK with all fonts outlined or embedded
- Build the file at the finished trim size with 3mm bleed on every edge
- Keep text, logos and borders at least 5mm inside the trim
- Supply all images at 300 DPI at final size — screen-resolution images (72 DPI) will print soft
- Single pages please, no crop marks or printer's marks inside the artwork area
- Use rich black (C40 M30 Y30 K100) for large solid black areas; 100% K alone looks grey
- RGB files are converted to CMYK for press, which can shift bright blues, greens and oranges
- Hairline rules should be at least 0.25pt so they hold on press

Hardboard coasters are the durable alternative to printed pulpboard mats: a rigid MDF core with a gloss print surface and a cork or rubber backing that grips the table.
They belong on bars, in hotel rooms and in gift sets where the item is meant to stay in use for years rather than an evening.
Full-colour photographic printing works well here — the coated surface holds detail and colour depth far better than absorbent board.

- Supply at 300 DPI with 3mm bleed — the edges are trimmed and lightly rounded.
- Keep key content 5mm inside the trim so nothing is lost at the corner radius.
- Full-bleed colour looks best; thin borders show any cutting movement.
