About A6 Postcards 400gsm
Product specifications sourced from our UK print partners.
- Supply a print-ready PDF in CMYK with all fonts outlined or embedded
- Build the file at the finished trim size with 3mm bleed on every edge
- Keep text, logos and borders at least 5mm inside the trim
- Supply all images at 300 DPI at final size — screen-resolution images (72 DPI) will print soft
- Single pages please, no crop marks or printer's marks inside the artwork area
- Use rich black (C40 M30 Y30 K100) for large solid black areas; 100% K alone looks grey
- RGB files are converted to CMYK for press, which can shift bright blues, greens and oranges
- Hairline rules should be at least 0.25pt so they hold on press
- 400gsm silk board
- Optional matt lamination
- A6 (105 × 148mm)
400gsm A6 postcards are thick enough to post without an envelope and sturdy enough to survive a letterbox and a pinboard. They are the best-value direct-mail piece we sell.
The rigidity is the point — a 400gsm card feels like something worth keeping, where a 170gsm flyer in the same size feels disposable.
- From 170gsm
- Gloss, silk or uncoated
- UK production
A6 Postcards 400gsm buying guide
Written by our studio team — what to choose, and what usually goes wrong.
- A6 — pocket and handout size. Cheapest per unit, best for door drops and event flyering.
- A5 — the workhorse. Enough room for an offer plus a small amount of detail; still cheap to post.
- A4 — menus, price lists and anything with a table or lots of copy.
- DL (99 x 210mm) — fits a standard envelope and a leaflet rack, ideal for direct mail.
