About A4 Thumb-Cut Wall Calendar
Product specifications sourced from our UK print partners.
- Supply a print-ready PDF in CMYK with all fonts outlined or embedded
- Supply single pages in reading order — not printer's spreads — with 3mm bleed all round
- Keep text and images at least 8mm from the trim and 10mm from the spine or binding edge
- Total page count must be divisible by 4 for stapled booklets (cover included)
- 300 DPI images at final size; avoid placing critical detail across the centre spread
- Wiro and perfect-bound work loses a few millimetres at the spine — keep page numbers outboard
- RGB files are converted to CMYK for press, which can shift bright blues, greens and oranges
- 170gsm silk paper
- Wire-bound with chrome hanger
- A4 portrait (210 x 297mm)
- Thumb-cut date locator
A thumb-cut wall calendar is the traditional trade calendar: a stacked block of month pages with a die-cut thumb hole so the current month is found instantly, mounted on a printed header board carrying your branding.
The design puts your logo at the top of the sheet permanently while the months tear away below it, so the branding survives the entire year rather than disappearing with each page.
It is the format most associated with builders' merchants, garages and workshops — practical, cheap per month, and genuinely used.
- Permanent branded header
- Thumb-cut month finder
- Trade favourite
A4 Thumb-Cut Wall Calendar buying guide
Written by our studio team — what to choose, and what usually goes wrong.
- The header is the part that stays visible all year — give it the logo, the phone number and the website, nothing else.
- High contrast reads better across a workshop than a subtle tonal design.
