About Gildan 18500 Heavy Blend Hoodie
Product specifications sourced from our UK print partners.
- Supply a PNG or PDF at 300 DPI with a transparent background, sized to the print area at 100%
- Do not include a background rectangle — anything not transparent will print
- Use #101010 rather than 100% black; pure black over-saturates on DTG
- Keep artwork 20mm inside seams, collars and hems
- On white and pale garments the white underbase is dropped, so leave white areas transparent unless you want them printed
- Neon and fluorescent colours can't be matched with DTG inks — expect a slightly muted result
- Gildan 18500 Heavy Blend — 50% cotton / 50% polyester, 271gsm
- Brushed fleece inner, twin-needle stitching
- Ribbed cuffs and waistband, double-lined hood with matching drawcord
- Unisex sizes S–XXL
- Maximum DTG print area 300 × 400mm front or back
- Front prints must clear the pouch pocket — keep to the upper 300 × 300mm
The Gildan 18500 is the standard-issue pullover hoodie: a 50/50 cotton-polyester blend at around 280gsm, with a double-lined hood, front pouch pocket and ribbed cuffs and hem.
The blend is deliberate — polyester keeps the garment from shrinking or sagging after repeated washing, which is exactly what you want on staff kit, club hoodies and anything that gets worn hard.
It is the value option rather than the fashion option. If you need a heavyweight organic or a boxy modern cut, look at the JH001 and JH050 instead.
- 280gsm blend
- Shrink resistant
- Team and staff kit
Gildan 18500 Heavy Blend Hoodie buying guide
Written by our studio team — what to choose, and what usually goes wrong.
- Keep front prints above the pocket seam — roughly 250mm of usable height from the neck.
- Large chest prints that cross the seam will crack; centre-chest or left-breast placements are safer.
- Back prints have the most room and are the usual home for a large design.
