- Supply a print-ready PDF in CMYK with all fonts outlined or embedded
- Supply single pages in reading order — not printer's spreads — with 3mm bleed all round
- Keep text and images at least 8mm from the trim and 10mm from the spine or binding edge
- Total page count must be divisible by 4 for stapled booklets (cover included)
- 300 DPI images at final size; avoid placing critical detail across the centre spread
- Wiro and perfect-bound work loses a few millimetres at the spine — keep page numbers outboard
- RGB files are converted to CMYK for press, which can shift bright blues, greens and oranges

A5 saddle-stitched booklets are the practical format for programmes, catalogues, instruction manuals and service brochures up to around 40 pages.
Page counts must be divisible by four, because each sheet folded in half makes four pages. If you land on 14 pages, either cut to 12 or add a blank or filler page to make 16.

- A6 — pocket and handout size. Cheapest per unit, best for door drops and event flyering.
- A5 — the workhorse. Enough room for an offer plus a small amount of detail; still cheap to post.
- A4 — menus, price lists and anything with a table or lots of copy.
- DL (99 x 210mm) — fits a standard envelope and a leaflet rack, ideal for direct mail.
