About Kraft Business Cards 400gsm
Product specifications sourced from our UK print partners.
- Supply a print-ready PDF in CMYK with all fonts outlined or embedded
- Build the file at the finished trim size with 3mm bleed on every edge
- Keep text, logos and borders at least 5mm inside the trim
- Supply all images at 300 DPI at final size — screen-resolution images (72 DPI) will print soft
- Single pages please, no crop marks or printer's marks inside the artwork area
- Use rich black (C40 M30 Y30 K100) for large solid black areas; 100% K alone looks grey
- RGB files are converted to CMYK for press, which can shift bright blues, greens and oranges
- Hairline rules should be at least 0.25pt so they hold on press
- 400gsm recycled kraft board

Kraft 400gsm is uncoated recycled board with a natural brown flecked surface. It suits makers, cafés, florists, barbers and anyone whose brand is built on being handmade rather than corporate.
Be deliberate with the artwork: inks soak into the fibre, so colours print softer and darker areas look muted rather than saturated. Single-colour and line-based designs look outstanding; heavy photographic coverage does not.
The upside is that it takes a pen or a stamp beautifully — ideal if you write loyalty stamps or appointment times on the back.
- Full colour both sides
- 350gsm minimum
- UK trade presses
Kraft Business Cards 400gsm buying guide
Written by our studio team — what to choose, and what usually goes wrong.
Weight is measured in gsm (grams per square metre) and it is the single biggest factor in how a card feels.
- 350gsm — the practical minimum for a professional card. Sturdy, economical, ideal for high-volume handouts.
- 400gsm — noticeably more substantial. The usual choice when the card is doing premium work.
- 450gsm and above — specialist and folded cards, where rigidity matters.
